Langston Hughes

Who is Langston Hughes writing for?
I believe Langston Hughes in writing this poem in order to express himself to the people.

Why was "America never America " to the poet?
America was never America to the poet because it was never freedom during his time. Things were extremely unfair and was not equal.

How did his personal experience contribute to his experience ?
His experience contributed alot because the poem was written in his own perspective. Things that he went through and his family was expressed in the poem to show his true feelings.

How has America changed since Langston Hughes wrote the poem ?
America has changed a lot since Langston Hughes for example there is no longer segregation overt. Also African Americans have a fair chance in this world. This is so because we now have an African American president. During Langston Hughes time period he would dbelieve that having a black president would be possible.

What are three aspects of America that Hughes would be ashamed of ?
One aspect would be that a lot of school students are not living up to their full potential. There grade point averages could be a lot. Another would be their is still some people that are narrow minded and they still treat each other unfairly. Lastly that people are not appreciating were they come from.

What are three aspects that Hughes would be proud of ?
Like I stated before we have an African America president. Also he would proud of all the accomplishments that people in general have made. Lastly he would be proud of how far we have come as a people.

How does this poem make you feel about America ?
It makes me feel that we a s a people have come extremely far. I don't believe that we are finished we still have a ways to go, but we can get that far if we just have faith.
